Job description
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Columbus McKinnon, you will work together with engineers on New Product Development teams to design and implement technology solutions in our industrial automation controls and wireless communication product portfolios.
Requirements
-
Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and test embedded software solutions. \n
-
Experience with industrial controls, including VFD drives. \n
-
Experience with control systems design and implementation is preferred. \n
-
Experience with RF communications hardware and software is preferred. \n
-
Working knowledge of electronic circuits and an ability to read schematic diagrams. \n
-
Proficiency with test and debug tools, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. \n
-
Independent problem-solving and analysis skills. \n
-
Ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team. \n
-
Ability to meet critical deadlines, incorporating solid time-management skills. \n, * B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (M.S. Degree preferred). \n

6+ years of experience, including the following: \n
-
Embedded C, C++ \n
-
ARM processors with RTOS and bare-metal implementations \n
-
Low level communication protocols, such as USB, RS232, SPI, I2C, and CAN \n
-
Wireless communication protocols, such as Bluetooth, BLE or Wi-Fi \n
-
Secure boot implementation \n
-
Safety-critical system code design (SIL3) is a plus. \n
-
Prior experience with industrial wired networks is a plus. \n
