Job description
An opportunity to join a growing national business investing in its data and analytics capabilities. You’ll take ownership of BI reporting, work with commercial stakeholders and help develop a modern Microsoft data platform., Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, you’ll combine hands-on BI development with commercial analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports and semantic models.
- Building and optimising SQL queries and scalable data models to support reporting and analysis.
- Supporting the development of Microsoft Fabric and Azure capabilities, including ETL/ELT processes.
- Partnering with pricing, product, marketing, finance and operations teams to understand requirements and prioritise delivery.
- Analysing revenue, margins, customer behaviour and operational performance to identify opportunities and support decisions.
- Improving reporting automation, self-service analytics, data quality and governance.
- Presenting findings and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Mentoring junior colleagues and sharing technical best practice.
Requirements
- Strong experience in BI development or data analytics, with ownership of reporting solutions.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query, semantic modelling and performance optimisation.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex transformations, query optimisation and troubleshooting.
- Experience building dimensional data models and developing ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data technologies or comparable modern data platforms.
- A strong understanding of commercial metrics, including revenue, profit, margin and forecasting.
- Confidence managing competing priorities, challenging constructively and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
Experience within retail, wholesale or a similarly fast-moving commercial environment would be advantageous., * Communication

Benefits & conditions
- Salary of £50,000-£70,000, depending on experience.
- 25 days’ annual leave.
- Hybrid working with three days in the office and two from home.
- Ownership of BI delivery and the opportunity to influence a developing data function.
- Exposure to senior stakeholders and commercially significant projects.
A driving licence is required. More frequent office attendance during the initial onboarding period would be beneficial. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
