Job description

Data and assessment management play a pivotal role in tracking pupil performance and shaping whole-school strategy. The successful applicant will manage the school’s Management Information System (Arbor/SIMS), set up assessment frameworks, generate tracking reports, and analyze key educational performance metrics for leadership and governors.

Working directly alongside the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Department, you will coordinate assessment entry cycles, compile progress data, manage statutory DfE returns, and generate parent reporting documents. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent position., * Oversee, configure, and maintain the school’s MIS database (Arbor/SIMS/Bromcom) and academic marksheets

  • Design, build, and distribute academic progress reports, statistical analyses, and data dashboards for SLT and governors
  • Coordinate school-wide assessment entry cycles, mock exam analysis, and target-setting frameworks
  • Complete statutory Department for Education data submissions, including the termly School Census and workforce returns
  • Manage student timetable adjustments, bandings, and option blocks in conjunction with leadership
  • Provide technical guidance and training to teaching staff on entering marks and accessing progress data

Requirements

An ambitious secondary academy in Buckinghamshire is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Data & Assessment Manager to lead student academic tracking, statistical reporting, and database management for an immediate (ASAP) start.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a quantitative specialist or experienced school data professional looking to drive strategic decision-making and academic improvement., * Proven experience in data analysis, database administration, or assessment management within an educational setting

  • Advanced proficiency in school MIS software (Arbor, SIMS, Bromcom) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas)
  • Deep understanding of secondary assessment frameworks, Progress 8 metrics, and DfE statutory reporting requirements
  • Methodical approach, high mathematical accuracy, and ability to present complex data clearly
  • An active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
