Job description
We’re now looking for a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join our Digital and Data team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape and enhance our enterprise data capabilities, ensuring colleagues across NHS Property Services have access to trusted, high-quality data to support informed decision-making and drive business performance, * Design, implement and test data structures, analytical tools and strategies that align with engineering standards and business requirements.
- Develop and maintain data infrastructure to consume, transform, store and preserve data from multiple source systems.
- Build reusable and standardised components and frameworks to increase efficiency and scalability across data pipelines.
- Support the development and maintenance of data warehouses, data marts and reporting solutions that provide a trusted source of information.
- Develop, test and maintain ETL processes to support data integration and reporting requirements.
- Partner with Data Architects and wider stakeholders to ensure data models and analytical outputs meet business needs.
- Support the development of Power BI applications and reporting solutions.
- Monitor data quality and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
- Assess emerging technologies, industry trends and best practice, sharing knowledge and recommendations across the team.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and governance records relating to data solutions and developments
Requirements
You’re a technically skilled data professional with a passion for building robust data solutions and transforming complex data into meaningful insights. You enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and working collaboratively with colleagues across the business. You have experience developing data pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting solutions, alongside a strong understanding of data engineering principles and best practice. You’re analytical, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment., * Experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and ETL development.
- Knowledge of data modelling, database design and information management principles.
- Experience developing and maintaining large-scale databases and reporting solutions.
- Understanding of data quality, governance and technical assurance processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within Microsoft-based data environments and technologies.
- A technology or data-focused degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications relating to SQL and/or Business Intelligence would be advantageous
Benefits & conditions
This is a hybrid role with occasional travel as required. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, offering a salary from £60,000 per annum, plus eligibility for our annual bonus scheme.
