Product Owner

Our client, a leading Government Systems Integrator, is in need of 8 Product Owners for initial 12 month contracts. This is a hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote with candidates being located in either Gaithersburg, MD, Egg Township, NJ or Eagan, MN. The Product Owners will be working for a development team in an Agile / SAFe environment, owning the team backlog and assisting in the design and implementation of software solutions. The Product Owners will be responsible for owning and prioritizing backlog for multiple Agile development teams, sequencing work based on stakeholder needs and program priorities, reviewing program required documents, system specifications and orders to extract intent, constraints and acceptance criteria, maintaining traceability from source requirements through features, stories and verification evidence, and leading structured reviews and inspections.

• At least 8 years of experience with a bachelors degree.
• Experience working as an Agile Product Owner, including owning and prioritizing product backlog and defining complete product backlog items (user stories).
• SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager (POPM) certification.
• Experience with Agile Methodology, principles and tools.
• Experience working within a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment, including PI planning and cross-team coordination.
• Ability to decompose complex requirements into testable work items with clear, verifiable acceptance criteria.
• Experience writing, testing, debugging and maintaining software and / or scripts.

Preferred or Nice to Have Skills:

• Knowledge and experience with AI-assisted development workflows and tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.).
• Scripting experience (Java, Python, React).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud data mesh architectures and microservices platforms.

We offer excellent benefits and compensation packages. The expected hourly rate range for this role is $57 - 82/ hr. The posted range is an estimate. The actual compensation offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications and will be in line with internal equity.
