Job description
As the Data Architect on the programme you will lead the design and governance of the end-to-end data architecture for the ERP transformation, ensuring data is structured, secure, high quality and aligned to business objectives. You will own the data migration strategy, overseeing data mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation and reconciliation, while establishing master data standards, governance frameworks, ownership models and data quality controls across the organisation. Working closely with business stakeholders, vendors and implementation partners, you will design and govern data flows between ERP, reporting and analytics platforms, assure data-related deliverables, and provide leadership through architecture reviews and governance forums. You’ll also identify and mitigate data risks and dependencies, support testing and deployment activities, and ensure effective knowledge transfer to internal teams to create a sustainable and supportable long-term data environment.
Requirements
Data Architect - ERP Transformation Programme needed urgently for an initial 6 - month engagement (likely to extend) with our Construction client in Edinburgh. The right candidate must have demonstrable experience as a Data Architect combined with previous experience working on ERP projects and programmes within complex, corporate environments., * Proven experience as a Data Architect on large-scale ERP transformation or implementation programmes.
- Strong expertise in enterprise data architecture, data modelling, lineage, integration patterns and information governance.
- Demonstrable background delivering Data Engineering solutions and implementations.
- Extensive experience leading complex ERP data migrations, including transformation, cleansing, reconciliation and validation activities.
- Experience defining master data strategies, stewardship models and data quality frameworks.
- Experience reviewing and assuring deliverables from ERP vendors, systems integrators and third-party partners.
- Strong understanding of architecture governance and Design Authority processes.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and data concepts clearly to business, technical and executive stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating hands-on within fast-paced, multi-workstream transformation programmes.
Ideal Experience
- Experience working with ERP platforms and enterprise-wide transformation programmes.
- Experience supporting reporting and analytics architecture alongside ERP implementations.
- Experience planning and governing migration rehearsals, cutover activities and deployment readiness.
- Knowledge of modern reporting platforms such as Power BI and enterprise data ecosystems.
Desirable
- Previous experience implementing COINS ERP.
- Experience within housebuilding, construction, property development or related industries.
- Knowledge of finance, procurement, commercial, construction, land or technical data domains.
Benefits & conditions
The role pays up to £575 per day and requires candidates to engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company. Candidates must be willing and able to work onsite in Edinburgh 2 days per week.
