Job description
To support ongoing research and clinical trials the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology has a position available for a 3-year part-time (0.8 or 1.0 FTE) database manager. The statistician is expected to:
- Develop eCRFs and databases for newly initiated clinical trials.
- Support colleagues, including PhD students, in eCRF in database development.
- Assist in basic bio-statistical analyses of completed clinical trials in cardio-metabolic conditions as needed.
- Identifies the need for and assists in the writing and review of Standard Operating Procedures for quality assurance.
- Stays current on relevant research and statistical methodologies and database development via statistical or database training, self-study, internal training, and courses.

You will be working in an energetic and enthusiastic team of more than 30 researchers from diverse backgrounds. The group has an extensive network, both nationally and internationally.
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic database manager who is a team player but can also work independently. The applicant holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent, and ideally has experience in database management of clinical trials. The candidate is familiar with up-to-date database management systems.
We expect the candidate to demonstrate professional competence and be conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results. The ideal candidate has experience with quantitative research, data analysis, ICT developments, and is proficient in English writing.
Candidates who have (almost) obtained a degree in data-analytics or related fields are invited to respond.
Benefits & conditions
The University Medical Center Groningen offers a salary of at least € 3.430,- (salary scale 8) gross per month depending on experience. You will first be appointed for a period of 12 months for 32 to 36 hours a week. After a positive evaluation, the contract will be extended for the remaining part of the project. Additionally, the UMCG offers an 8% holiday allowance, an 8.3% year-end bonus.The conditions of employment comply with the Collective Labour Agreement for Medical Centres (CAO-UMC).
