Job description

They’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer who wants more than simply keeping production running. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting to the root of difficult infrastructure problems, improving systems properly and having a genuine influence on how technology is built and operated.

You’ll take ownership of a predominantly cloud-based infrastructure environment, working across cloud, hosted and on-premise systems while helping drive the transition towards a more modern, scalable and cloud-native platform.

There’s plenty to get your teeth into - from reliability and observability to automation, infrastructure as code and modernising existing systems.

The role:

You’ll have a high level of ownership and autonomy, with the opportunity to make a visible impact across the engineering organisation.

Your work will include:

  • Owning the reliability, scalability and performance of production infrastructure
  • Designing and implementing robust, highly available and secure architectures
  • Investigating complex infrastructure and production issues and driving them through to resolution
  • Introducing and embedding SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, incident management and post-mortems
  • Building and improving CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
  • Developing a strong observability strategy across monitoring, logging and alerting
  • Automating operational processes and eliminating unnecessary manual work
  • Helping modernise legacy infrastructure without introducing unnecessary risk
  • Working closely with software engineers to build more reliable and resilient services
  • Sharing your experience, challenging existing approaches and helping raise the technical bar across the team

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with around 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar role.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Strong hands-on experience running production workloads on cloud platforms
  • A solid understanding of Linux and distributed systems
  • Experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code tool
  • Strong CI/CD experience
  • Practical Kubernetes and container experience
  • Experience building meaningful monitoring and observability
  • A genuine understanding of SRE principles rather than simply the job title
  • Experience dealing with incidents and improving systems following them
  • The ability to modernise older infrastructure thoughtfully and pragmatically
  • An understanding of cloud security and cost optimisation
  • Programming experience with Python, Go or a similar language

Experience with hybrid/on-premise environments or security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2 would be a bonus., If you’re an experienced SRE, Platform Engineer or DevOps Engineer who enjoys solving difficult problems, improving reliability and having a genuine say in how infrastructure evolves, this is a role worth exploring.

Benefits & conditions

You’ll have the freedom to question how things are currently done, introduce better approaches and work alongside experienced engineers to shape the future infrastructure environment.

In return, you’ll get:

  • Basic salary of up to €90k (depending on experience)
  • Hybrid working and a modern Berlin office
  • Genuine technical ownership and autonomy
  • The opportunity to influence infrastructure and engineering decisions
  • Plenty of scope for professional development
  • Flexible working and a strong focus on work-life balance
  • Support towards fitness and public transport
  • Regular team lunches, breakfasts and social events
  • Team events and company celebrations
