Lead Quality Engineer

The Lead Quality Engineer is responsible for product quality review associated with the additive manufacturing process and GE Aerospace quality system requirements. Ensures that projects and products are capable and will meet specified standards. Demonstrates leadership by communicating business goals and processes effectively. Creates strategies that further the sites quality priorities and improvements., * Quality Engineer in additive manufacturing realizing quality assurance of products, manufacturing, and inspection processes.

• Establish inspection and control plans for conformance of additive hardware, using statistics to analyze capability
• Leverage FLIGHT DECK to lead problem solving and process improvement initiatives.
• Participate in strategic initiatives for new technologies related to additive manufacturing processes
• Ownership of Material Review Board (MRB) tickets
• Engage in site audit initiatives; perform work station audits and support regulatory and special process audits.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Communicate and participate in team, site, IPT, and business initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Quality)
• At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Quality, * Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn

• Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative

• Advance degree in a technical discipline
• Experience in APQP, Advanced Product Quality Planning
• Expertise in AS9100 standard
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Experience in Six Sigma
• LEAN, ability to drive smart and effective change
• Strong organizational, analytic, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to partner with and work within cross-functional teams
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and provide efficient and effective corrective actions
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints
• Proficiency in MSA, PFMEA, FAI, and Process capability analysis desired
• Experience in inspection methods
