Lead Data Engineer

Our client, a well-established and highly respected financial services organization, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive the development of enterprise-scale data solutions. This role will serve as a key technical expert, helping define future-state data architecture, mentor engineering team members, and build modern data platforms that support critical business initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data solutions.
• Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data integration processes.
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor for the data engineering team.
• Help establish engineering standards, best practices, and long-term technical strategy.
• Work closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and application issues.
• Gather and analyze requirements from internal business partners.
• Participate in technical planning and solution design activities.
• Maintain and enhance existing data platforms while supporting new initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement across data engineering processes and technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise data platforms.
• Hands-on expertise with:
• Informatica
• SQL
• Snowflake
• Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, GCP or AWS experience also considered)
• Experience building and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud certifications (Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.).
• Prior experience in large enterprise environments.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams., We’re looking for a Data Engineering leader who brings a strong mix of modern cloud data technologies, ETL expertise, and leadership experience. Candidates with experience building scalable data solutions in complex enterprise environments will be especially successful in this role.
