SQL DBA (part time)

Akkodis is seeking a Part Time SQL DBA to work onsite in Cleveland, Ohio - 3 days a week. Our client is seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to provide immediate support for an existing database environment while the organization prepares for a future cloud migration initiative. This is a hands-on contract role focused on maintaining and supporting SQL Server environments, ensuring database stability, performance, and reliability., * Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server environments.

• Monitor database performance, availability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
• Perform database maintenance, backups, recovery, and optimization activities.
• Support application teams with database-related requests and performance tuning.
• Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Assist with planning and preparation for future cloud migration efforts.
• Document database processes, procedures, and configurations.

The ideal candidate will be a self-sufficient DBA who can step in with minimal training, troubleshoot issues independently, and effectively maintain production SQL environments. Experience with Azure SQL is highly desirable and will distinguish candidates, though deep cloud expertise is not required., * 5+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience.

• Strong understanding of SQL Server architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, indexing, and maintenance.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database or AZURE SQL Managed Instance
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Exposure to cloud migration projects
