Job description

This position focuses on automated testing, development of robust, innovative software test infrastructures and frameworks, integration testing, informal manual testing, formal software qualification testing, fielding and support, and maintenance of software products. Software products range from analysis tools/simulations, mission planning software, and components of mission-critical systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Involves direct participation as an integral team member who performs key roles with respect to test planning, test strategy and design, test execution, software engineering processes, and recommendations on product quality.

Involves reviewing, editing, and generating various documents used for engineering and testing purposes per industry standards.

Involves learning from more senior test engineers while also mentoring less experienced test engineers.

Involves communication with software developers and other team members on a frequent basis.

Must: US Citizen and Eligible to get a Security Clearence (May start role while Security Clearance is processing)

Must demonstrate ability in software development in either C#/.NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby programming languages.

Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies.

Proven experience performing software test on complex, multi-disciplinary projects

Experience with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178C and/or DO-278, MIL-STD-882e, RMF).

Bachelors Degree - Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Clearance is strongly preferred but not required. They may start the clearance process while they’re on contract., Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Candidate should have 4+ years of relevant technical experience with BS degree or 2+ with MS degree.

Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.

Proven experience performing software test on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

Have a proven track record implementing an automated software testing solution.

Automated testing experience on embedded systems is a plus.

Candidate must demonstrate ability in software development in either C#/.NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby programming languages.

Great communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership and government customers.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies.

Experience with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, MIL-STD-882e, DO-178C and/or DO-278, RMF).

The ability to work across multiple products under development by multiple small teams.

Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles and application

Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices technology.

Knowledge of guidance & control algorithms, navigation systems, mission planning systems (NOMS, JMPS), and sensors a huge plus.

Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.

Proficiency with testing MATLAB/Simulink generated code is a plus.

Understanding of hardware-software integration and software systems engineering principles

Agile Scrum Master experience a plus.
