Job description

As demand across several long-standing programs continues to grow, they are looking to add a Linux Engineer to their Fairfax, VA team. This is an opportunity to work in a large-scale enterprise environment supporting infrastructure that underpins some of the most technically challenging and important missions.

The role offers exposure to both traditional enterprise platforms and modern cloud-native technologies, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems while continuing to develop their technical skillset.

Responsibilites

  • Administering and supporting enterprise Linux environments
  • Maintaining infrastructure across physical, virtual and cloud-based platforms
  • Managing operating system upgrades, patching and security remediation
  • Monitoring system performance, availability and capacity
  • Troubleshooting hardware, operating system and network-related issues
  • Supporting application deployments and infrastructure enhancements
  • Building, testing and validating new server environments
  • Working closely with engineering teams to improve automation, reliability and scalability

Requirements

  • Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux or similar)
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
  • Scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python or similar
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including switching, subnets and VLANs
  • Experience working with virtualized environments
  • Knowledge of system security, hardening and vulnerability remediation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Security+ or CISSP certification

Desirable Experience

  • Kubernetes, Docker or containerized environments
  • Cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures
  • Puppet, GitLab or other configuration management tools
  • GPFS / IBM ESS
  • Directory services administration
  • Enterprise storage technologies including SAN and Fibre Channel

Clearance Requirement

Applicants must hold an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility., Linux Administrator, Linux Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Red Hat, RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Engineer, DevOps, Puppet, GitLab, Python, Bash, VMware, Storage, SAN, Fibre Channel, TS Clearance, TS/SCI Eligible, Intelligence Community, Defense, Government Contracting.
