Job description

For this internship we only accept students that are already in The Netherlands, studying for their Bachelor or Masters. Not already graduated students. You need to be able to include this internship in your current study.

As an Integration & Middleware Engineering Intern, you will work on connecting applications, automating workflows, and ensuring smooth data exchange between different systems. Whether you’re interested in API development, event-driven architecture, cloud-based integrations, or message queues, we’ll work together to define a project that fits both your interests and our business needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and managing APIs and middleware solutions to integrate various applications.
  • Working with integration platforms, messaging queues, and event-driven architectures.
  • Automating data flows between systems to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Collaborating with back-end engineers, architects, and business teams to optimize integration processes.
  • Developing or updating java code based applications.
  • Experimenting with new integration technologies, protocols, and frameworks to enhance our infrastructure.

Requirements

Some things you cannot learn at university, but you possess them by nature. Your core personality is curious, analytical, problem-solving, and proactive. You enjoy understanding how systems communicate and finding ways to optimize those interactions., * Currently pursuing an HBO or WO degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field in the Netherlands.

  • Interest in system integration, programming, middleware technologies, and API development.
  • Basic knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML, J2EE (java) and integration tools (experience is a plus).
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures, messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.), or cloud-based integrations.
  • A strong problem-solving mindset, organizational skills and eagerness to learn.

Benefits & conditions

  • Growth and challenges;
  • A lot of freedom and fun;
  • An internship allowance of €750 gross per month (based on a 40-hour workweek);
  • A safe and hybrid working environment.
