Senior Network Systems Engineer

• Design, deliver, implement, and improve enterprise network infrastructure and secure network solutions across customer environments
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless environments
• Work with routing technologies including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
• Support complex LAN/WAN and multi-site environments
• Integrate networking with cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure
• Work with Azure networking technologies such as VNets, VPN gateways, and load balancing
• Apply network security principles, including IDS/IPS, NAC, SSL/TLS, and Zero Trust
• Produce high-level and low-level technical designs
• Work with customers and internal technical teams to understand requirements and recommend solutions
• Support major technical incidents, investigate complex infrastructure problems, identify root causes, and implement robust solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience, security, and maintainability
• Contribute to preventative maintenance and ongoing service improvement

• Windows, We are recruiting for a Senior Systems Networking Engineer to join a well-established technology services business and its technical team. The role is based in Ringwood, Hampshire, with hybrid working, and offers a salary of up to £55,000. You will work across varied enterprise customer environments and larger infrastructure and transformation projects, with involvement throughout the customer infrastructure lifecycle-from solution design and implementation to documentation, optimisation, and ongoing technical improvement. This is an opportunity to take greater ownership of design, architecture, implementation, and technical improvement beyond reactive network support.

• Substantial commercial experience designing and supporting enterprise network environments
• Ideally around five or more years of experience in networking, infrastructure, or systems engineering
• Ability to take technical ownership of complex environments
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networking, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience producing technical documentation, designs, procedures, and implementation plans
• Experience with Fortinet, SonicWall, or Meraki environments would be highly beneficial
• Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure, particularly Windows Server, DNS, RADIUS, and PKI, would complement the networking focus
• Microsoft Azure cloud networking experience would be a significant advantage
