Job description

Identity & Trust Programme Lead

Overview Lead the organisation’s Identity & Trust transformation, owning the roadmap, budget, delivery, risks and outcomes. Initially focused on strengthening identity controls and remediation, the role will then drive the move towards a modern, resilient, Zero Trust-aligned identity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Identity & Trust roadmap, budget, governance and delivery outcomes.
  • Lead remediation across identity governance, privileged access and directory services (e.g. SailPoint, CyberArk, Active Directory, Entra ID).
  • Improve access controls, joiner/mover/leaver processes, privileged account management and authentication security.
  • Deliver key initiatives including MFA, Conditional Access, PAM, DLP and Zero Trust capabilities.
  • Manage suppliers, delivery partners and a small team of Project Managers.
  • Oversee risks, regulatory commitments, audit actions and executive reporting.

What Success Looks Like

  • Stronger identity governance and access controls.
  • Increased adoption of MFA, PAM and Zero Trust principles.
  • Reduced security risks, orphaned accounts and privileged-access exceptions.
  • Delivery of agreed remediation plans, budgets and regulatory commitments.
  • Experience Required
  • Proven leadership of large-scale cyber, identity or technology transformation programmes.
  • Experience managing complex portfolios, budgets (£1m+) and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong supplier and delivery partner management.
  • Ability to translate technical risk into business outcomes and investment decisions.
  • Experience operating in regulated or business-critical environments.

Desirable

  • Identity Governance (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM) or directory modernisation programmes.
  • Zero Trust, cloud identity, DLP or AI security initiatives.
  • Telecommunications, critical infrastructure or similar enterprise environments.
  • Regulatory or audit remediation delivery.

Working knowledge of:

  • SailPoint
  • CyberArk
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC and PAM
