Job description

ERP vendor Up to £70,000 basic + bonus

You know how to deliver an ERP implementation. Now you want the opportunity to lead a team, improve delivery and take the next step into management.

An ERP vendor is looking for an experienced Senior ERP Implementation Consultant to manage a team of six implementation consultants and grow into a broader Professional Services leadership role.

This would suit someone who already leads projects, mentors colleagues and handles difficult client situations, and is ready to take responsibility for the performance of a whole team. Existing ERP Delivery Managers and Professional Services Managers are also welcome.

The opportunity

You will give six ERP Implementation Consultants the direction, support and structure they need to deliver successful projects. Your focus will be on getting implementations delivered efficiently, meeting client requirements and making effective use of the team’s time.

You will also strengthen the processes behind delivery, from discovery and scoping through project management, testing, go-live and handover to support.

This is a hands-on role. Alongside managing people and overseeing projects, you will step into complex implementations, help resolve delivery problems and work directly with clients when your experience is needed.

What you will do

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of six ERP Implementation Consultants.
  • Oversee multiple implementations, keeping projects moving and addressing risks early.
  • Manage resource allocation, capacity, timesheets, chargeability and utilisation.
  • Improve discovery, scoping and sales-to-delivery handovers.
  • Establish clear project milestones, responsibilities and reporting.
  • Strengthen documentation, testing, go-live and support handover processes.
  • Create consistent client onboarding packs and practical guidance for consultants.
  • Work closely with support and product management colleagues to coordinate delivery and priorities.
  • Help recruit and onboard additional consultants as the team grows.
  • Take an active role in complex projects and client escalations., You might be a Senior ERP Implementation Consultant, Lead Consultant or ERP Project Manager looking for your first formal team management role. Alternatively, you may already manage an ERP delivery team and want greater influence and a route towards Operations Director.

You will bring:

  • Experience delivering ERP projects from discovery through to go-live.
  • Evidence of leading projects, mentoring consultants or managing a team.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to balance several projects and competing priorities.
  • A practical approach to improving processes and documentation.
  • Commercial awareness of consultant utilisation, delivery capacity and project performance.
  • The confidence to understand client businesses, challenge decisions constructively and resolve difficult delivery situations.

The culture

This ERP vendor is a small, entrepreneurial business where you can influence more than your own department. You will have opportunities to contribute to recruitment, business strategy, sales processes and product direction as priorities develop.

If you enjoy taking ownership, getting involved and helping a business grow, this offers the scope to build your management career and take on increasing operational responsibility.
