Join a team shaping the future of aerospace innovation. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented 3D Print Technician to support the growing additive manufacturing needs of the Engines and Power Systems (E&PS) Design Plastic 3D Print Lab (DPPL).
In this role, you will operate and manage the 3D Print Lab supporting engineering teams across a variety of aerospace programs. You will transform digital CAD models into physical parts used for full-scale mockups, rapid prototyping, tooling, fit checks, maintainability assessments, and engineering demonstrations.
The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for 3D print requests, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery while maintaining laboratory equipment, materials, and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Additive Manufacturing Operations
- Operate and manage daily activities of the 3D Print Lab safely and efficiently.
- Convert engineering CAD models into physical parts through print preparation, build setup, material selection, printing, and post-processing.
- Review and prepare STL/CAD files for 3D printing using appropriate slicing and print-preparation software.
- Coordinate and prioritize 3D printing requests from multiple engineering teams and customers.

- Tooling and fixtures
- Fit and form validation
- Maintainability assessments
- Engineering demonstrations and reviews
Equipment & Lab Management
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot 3D printers and related equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance to maximize equipment availability and print quality.
- Troubleshoot print issues and make adjustments to achieve desired part quality.
- Manage inventory of printing materials, consumables, and spare parts.
- Coordinate procurement activities and shipping of completed parts.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
Engineering & Customer Support
- Support engineering teams with 3D printing and rapid prototyping needs.
- Communicate project status, timelines, and expectations throughout the print process.
- Provide responsive customer service to internal engineering customers.
- Coordinate multiple print requests while balancing priorities, deadlines, and available equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a hands-on technical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and resolve basic technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree, technical certification, or vocational training in: *
- Engineering Technology
- Manufacturing Technology
- Mechanical Design
- Additive Manufacturing
- Or a related technical field.
- Experience operating or maintaining 3D printing equipment.
- Technician experience supporting engineering or manufacturing organizations.
- Experience working with CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Experience with 3D printing technologies such as FDM, SLA, PolyJet, or similar processes.
- Experience with 3D print preparation, slicing software, and post-processing techniques.
- Experience creating prototypes, fixtures, tooling, or engineering models.
- Familiarity with aerospace products, particularly gas turbine engines, is a plus.
- Understanding of engineering design, prototyping, and product development workflows.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with a focus on responsiveness and quality.
