Senior Applied AI Engineer (Enterprise AI / Python)

The Senior Applied AI Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and scaling AI systems within a production SaaS platform focused on financial wellness. This role enables the delivery of reliable, high-quality AI features by developing scalable infrastructure and frameworks, directly impacting the evolution of AI capabilities in the product architecture., * Design and implement scalable AI services and supporting infrastructure

• Develop solutions to evaluate and improve large language model (LLM) output quality
• Build frameworks and tooling to support AI feature development
• Maintain systems for model tuning, evaluation, and optimization
• Ensure deployment and operational reliability of AI services in production
• Optimize AI services for latency, cost efficiency, and reliability
• Collaborate with the CTO on AI architecture, model usage, and system design
• Provide technical guidance and establish best practices for AI feature development
• Participate in technical architecture discussions related to AI systems

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend or systems development skills
• Proficiency in Python development
• Experience designing and building backend services or distributed systems
• Experience integrating LLM APIs or generative AI services into production
• Experience evaluating or improving AI model performance in production
• Strong problem-solving and systems design abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team

Nice to have:

• Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks
• Experience with model fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt evaluation, or LLM evaluation
• Experience building internal tooling or infrastructure for AI applications
• Experience with vector databases or AI data pipelines
• Experience in fintech or B2B SaaS environments

• Estimated annual base salary range from $160,000 to $195,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and location
