Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (Snowflake, Power BI)- Remote-NY

Develops Complex Data Assets: Creates enterprise-level data assets such as reports, visualizations, dashboards, and data extracts to provide business insight and support decision-making.

• Conducts Advanced Analyses: Produces complex reports and performs both quantitative and qualitative analyses to address impactful business issues.
• Delivers Insights & Recommendations: Combines data analysis with subject matter expertise to deliver actionable business insights, comprehensive read-outs, and recommendations.
• Maintains and Enhances Reporting Solutions: Serves as the primary business intelligence and analytics resource for the Technology Operations Portfolio and Financial Management team, maintaining and enhancing Power BI solutions.
• Supports Financial & Resource Management: Provides critical insights into financial performance, portfolio health, resource allocation, and compliance metrics through dashboards and reports.
• Troubleshoots & Optimizes Reports: Supports and optimizes existing dashboards, troubleshoots data/reporting issues, and develops new visualizations and reporting capabilities.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partners with stakeholders to gather and refine business requirements, translating them into actionable analytics solutions.
• Utilizes Microsoft & Cloud Technologies: Leverages Microsoft 365 technologies, especially Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Snowflake, to support data integration, automation, and reporting initiatives.
• Ensures Data Accuracy and Compliance: Maintains the accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness of reporting assets; supports governance and compliance processes.
• Drives Iterative Development: Works in an iterative environment, engaging stakeholders throughout development to ensure solutions evolve with business needs.
• Acts as Power BI SME: Serves as the team’s subject matter expert for Power BI and related business intelligence tools.
• Influences Executive Decision-Making: Transforms complex data into clear, actionable insights to support executive and strategic decision-making.

5+ years relevant experience

• Power BI development (including Power BI Desktop, Service, DAX, Power Query)
• Power Apps, Power Automate
• Snowflake integration and data refresh processes
• Data modeling and report performance tuning
• Excel & AI tools (e.g., CoPilot)
• SQL and experience gathering business requirements
• Strong communication skills to explain data issues to non-technical stakeholders
• Preferred Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, MIS, or related field.
• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) preferred.
