Job description

Our client seeks a Principal Software Engineer in Test to engineer testing solutions for the Fidelity Insurance Agency product area. The role will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software solutions with a focus on test automation, quality, and best practices. The work includes building robust QA strategies and frameworks across API, web, and mobile, improving test coverage and release velocity, and contributing to CI/CD, cloud, and observability. You will collaborate within the Engineering Excellence chapter to drive automated, performance, and chaos testing and to promote secure and testable software design., * Design and implement QA strategies and test frameworks for API, web, and mobile with end-to-end validation.

  • Develop and maintain automated tests including unit, component, integration, functional, performance, scenario, and interoperability tests.
  • Build and maintain test automation with Playwright and Cypress, Rest Assured, JUnit, TestNG, Maven, and ETL batch where applicable.
  • Architect and evolve automation test platforms and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins Core and related tooling.
  • Support deployment automation and orchestration across environments.
  • Manage source control practices including branches, merges, and versioning with GitHub, Bitbucket (Stash), and Sourcetree.
  • Apply testability, security, and bug prevention strategies to influence better software design.
  • Collaborate to improve test coverage, release velocity, production health, and observability with tools such as Splunk and Datadog.
  • Conduct SQL-based validations and implement data seeding to enable automation.
  • Contribute to cloud initiatives with AWS where applicable.

Requirements

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance., * 12+ years with a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with a master’s degree in computer science or related field.

  • 6+ years architecting automation test platforms.
  • 6+ years architecting and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, JUnit, TestNG, Maven.
  • Experience with front-end automation and web accessibility testing.
  • Experience with Jenkins Core, monorepo practices, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, Bitbucket (Stash), and Sourcetree.
  • Exposure to AWS and cloud-based test and deployment practices.
  • Knowledge of Xray, chaos testing, Splunk, Datadog, Node.js, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with mobile testing, SQL queries, and AI tooling for validation.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or master’s degree with reduced experience requirement.
