Job description
- Serve as a senior pre-sales technical partner for strategic data center customers and work closely with Key Account Managers to advance major accounts, high-value projects, and critical business opportunities.
- Lead technical discovery and solution development by translating customer requirements into appropriate system architecture, product selection, configuration recommendations, and technical proposals.
- Provide technical expertise across a broad data center cooling portfolio, including chillers, central chilled-water systems, air-cooled solutions, liquid cooling/CDUs, fan walls, and precision air-conditioning systems.
- Advise customers on data center cooling architecture and application considerations, including power density, redundancy, reliability, energy efficiency, air/liquid cooling strategy, facility-water requirements, and high-density AI/GPU deployments.
- Lead or actively participate in customer technical presentations, design reviews, RFQ/RFP responses, bid support, technical clarifications, and solution workshops.
- Work directly with hyperscalers, colocation providers, consultants, EPC firms, general contractors, system integrators, and customer engineering teams to support project development and technical alignment.
- Collaborate closely with global product and R&D teams to communicate market requirements, customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and application needs, helping ensure that proposed solutions are technically sound and commercially competitive.
- Coordinate with sales, product, engineering, delivery, and after-sales teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure continuity from pre-sales solution development through project execution and customer handoff.
- Develop and standardize reference architectures, application solutions, technical best practices, competitive comparisons, and representative project cases to support broader data center business growth.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal commercial teams, providing technical judgment on system design, product application, risk, performance, and solution differentiation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Refrigeration, Energy and Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience preferred, with strong experience in data center cooling, HVAC, central chilled-water systems, liquid cooling, mission-critical infrastructure, or related applications. Exceptional candidates with fewer years but highly relevant data center cooling experience may also be considered.
- Strong understanding of data center cooling system architecture, including air cooling, chilled-water systems, liquid cooling, direct-to-chip cooling, free cooling, and hybrid cooling strategies.
- Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable: CDUs, rack-level liquid cooling, manifolds, cold plates, fan walls, CRAH/CRAC systems, chillers, heat exchangers, pumps, or central cooling plants.
- Experience supporting high-density racks, AI data centers, GPU clusters, HPC environments, or other mission-critical high-heat-density applications is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform customer requirement analysis, solution development, technical selection, system configuration, technical presentations, and technical clarification.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both engineering and commercial stakeholders.
- Ability to operate effectively across sales, product, R&D, delivery, service, consultants, EPC partners, and customer technical organizations.
- Strong English communication skills for customer engagement, technical presentations, documentation, and cross-regional collaboration.
- Willingness to travel as required to support customer meetings, project development, technical workshops, and key opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting hyperscalers, colocation providers, AI infrastructure companies, large cloud customers, or major data center operators.
- Experience developing or supporting integrated primary-side and secondary-side cooling solutions, rather than working exclusively at a single equipment or component level.
- Experience working directly with consulting engineers, EPC contractors, general contractors, MEP firms, system integrators, or major OEM partners.
- Hands-on or application experience with liquid cooling/CDUs, direct-to-chip cooling, fan walls, precision cooling, large-scale chilled-water plants, or high-density AI cooling solutions.
- Experience in technical sales, applications engineering, solution architecture, field applications, or customer-facing engineering roles within the data center or mission-critical cooling industry.
- Familiarity with competitive data center cooling technologies, system-level tradeoffs, application constraints, and emerging thermal-management trends.
