Job description
The Web Designer & Developer designs, develops, and maintains Innové, Inc.’s portfolio of corporate, brand, regional, and e-commerce websites. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines modern front-end development skills with strong visual judgment and a practical understanding of user experience, accessibility, site performance, and conversion. The position supports websites currently built on WordPress, Shopify, and K-ecommerce and should be comfortable learning and working across additional web platforms as business needs evolve. The role partners closely with Creative Services, Marketing, IT, and outside vendors to deliver polished, on-brand, reliable, and easy-to-use digital experiences, * Website Design & Development: Design, build, enhance, and maintain responsive websites, landing pages, templates, and e-commerce experiences across WordPress, Shopify, K-ecommerce, and other web platforms.
- Front-End Development: Write and maintain clean, standards-based HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Customize themes, templates, components, and page layouts beyond basic visual page-builder changes when needed.
- User Experience & Visual Design: Translate brand standards and business requirements into intuitive page structures, clear user journeys, effective calls to action, and visually consistent experiences across desktop and mobile devices.
- WordPress-to-Shopify Migration: Lead the design and full build-out of the Innové Corporate site as it moves from WordPress to Shopify. Maintain and improve the current WordPress site until the migration is complete.
- E-Commerce Support: Build and maintain product, collection, merchandising, promotional, checkout-related, and supporting content experiences. Work with Marketing and IT to improve usability, conversion, and platform integration.
- Content & Campaign Execution: Partner with the Creative Services Manager and Marketing team to create and publish web pages, campaign landing pages, product content, and regional site updates while maintaining brand consistency.
- Performance, Quality & Accessibility: Test and optimize websites for responsive behavior, speed, browser compatibility, accessibility, broken links, and overall quality. Identify and resolve issues before and after release.
- Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Use GA4 and related tools to monitor site performance and user behavior, develop clear reporting, and recommend data-informed improvements to content, navigation, user experience, and e-commerce performance.
- SEO Implementation: Apply on-page and technical SEO best practices, including page structure, metadata, redirects, image optimization, and crawl-friendly content. Coordinate with dedicated SEO resources as available.
- CRM & Platform Integrations: Partner with IT, Marketing, and vendors to connect forms, lead capture, analytics, e-commerce, and other website services, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Privacy & Compliance Support: Implement and maintain approved cookie consent, privacy, and tracking configurations. Coordinate with internal stakeholders or legal resources on requirements rather than independently interpreting legal obligations.
- Troubleshooting & Vendor Coordination: Diagnose website and integration issues, resolve front-end and platform-level problems within the role’s scope, and coordinate with IT, developers, platform support, or vendors when deeper technical support is required.
- Documentation & Governance: Maintain practical documentation for themes, templates, integrations, publishing standards, and recurring site maintenance.
- Platform & Trend Awareness: Stay current with modern web development, design, accessibility, e-commerce, security, and platform practices, and recommend improvements that provide clear business value., * Balanced Skill Set: Combines creativity with technical execution and can move comfortably between design decisions, front-end coding, content publishing, testing, and troubleshooting.
- User-Centered Thinking: Advocates for clear, accessible, and efficient experiences while balancing brand, marketing, operational, and technical requirements.
- Ownership: Works independently, communicates risks early, documents decisions, and carries work from concept through launch and ongoing maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position normally works in an office environment and must be able to remain stationary for the majority of the day while using a computer and telephone. The position requires periodic trips into the plant and occasionally moving items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Three or more years of relevant website design and development experience is preferred.
- Modern Web Skills: Strong working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, responsive design, browser developer tools, and modern front-end practices.
- Platform Experience: Hands-on experience building and maintaining websites in at least one major CMS or e-commerce platform, with the ability to work across WordPress, Shopify, K-ecommerce, and other platforms.
- Design & UX: Strong visual design sense and understanding of layout, typography, color, hierarchy, navigation, mobile-first design, usability, and conversion-focused user experience.
- Portfolio: A portfolio or work samples demonstrating both website design and hands-on implementation.
- Quality & Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting, testing, attention to detail, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple brands, regional sites, and competing priorities.
- Collaboration: Ability to communicate clearly with creative, marketing, IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors and to translate business needs into practical web solutions., * Platforms: Experience with WordPress, Shopify, K-eCommerce, theme development or customization, and page-building tools. Experience with additional CMS or e-commerce platforms is beneficial.
- Development Tools: Experience with Git or other version control, CSS preprocessors or frameworks, APIs, JSON, Liquid, PHP, or related development technologies is a plus.
- Analytics & Optimization: Experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, heatmapping or behavior-analysis tools, A/B testing, and e-commerce reporting.
- Related Knowledge: Working knowledge of technical SEO, WCAG accessibility practices, domain and hosting concepts, consent management, website security, and cross-system integrations.
- CRM: Experience connecting web forms and digital experiences to a CRM platform; Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience is a plus.
