Senior Automation Engineer - Ansible & DevOps

Automate traffic draining, system maintenance, OS patching, software deployments, health validations, and recovery workflows to ensure operational safety, repeatability, and audit compliance. Develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Ansible playbooks, roles, and orchestration workflows in Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). Integrate proxy controls with automated patching, system IPL/restarts, and software release processes. Construct robust pre-checks, post-checks, automated health validation, rollback routines, and manual fallback procedures. Integrate Ansible automation directly with Jenkins and enterprise CI/CD pipeline tools. Enforce Git-based source control, automated testing, promotion gates, access control, and audit standards across all automation codebases. Create comprehensive operational playbooks for BizOps and operational teams to execute safely.

6+ years of relevant DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation experience. Advanced, hands-on expertise with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). Strong proficiency in Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD orchestration engines. Expert Linux shell scripting and Python development skills. Solid background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Git-based workflows, and REST API integrations. Proven track record automating high-risk production maintenance, traffic-draining, and disaster recovery procedures. Local availability to work 5 days per week onsite in St. Louis, MO.
