Applied AI Scientist IV

Our Client is seeking an Applied AI Scientist IV to serve as a senior, hands-on technical leader focused on building and operationalizing advanced AI solutions. This person will work heavily with NLP, RAG, LLMs, embeddings, vector search, document intelligence, and predictive analytics while providing technical direction and mentorship to other Data Scientists.

This is not a chatbot or prompt-engineering role. The ideal candidate has built complex, production-grade AI systems and can evaluate existing approaches, recommend better architectures, and lead projects from requirements through delivery.

8+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, or Applied AI Advanced experience building production AI solutions using NLP, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and vector search Strong traditional machine learning and predictive analytics foundation Experience with Python and/or R, SQL, and large complex datasets Experience with cloud/data platforms such as Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP, or Snowflake Experience working with unstructured data/document intelligence Experience taking AI solutions from architecture/design through production deployment Ability to serve as a technical/project lead, mentor Data Scientists, and drive projects through delivery Experience handling sensitive/person-level data in healthcare or another regulated industry Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience Healthcare, managed care, or health insurance experience Databricks Neo4j / graph databases Agentic AI and Small Language Models MLOps / LLMOps AI governance / Responsible AI Healthcare data experience including claims, EMR, HIE, or population data Master’s degree
