Senior Manager Data Analytics - Global Payment Network - Data Governance and Programs

The Senior Manager, Data Analysis will join the Data Governance and Pricing (DGAP) team within the Global Payment Networks (GPN) to manage numerous data adjacent risks. The risks include, for example, the data aspects of Network Conflict Risk (NCR), External Data Sharing (XDS), SCAN Findings, Privacy, Feature and Script Governance, GDPR, CCPA, Interchange Fee Prohibition Act, and more. The candidate will bring a mixture of Data, Risk, and Project Management experience to develop build overarching programs, establish controls and processes to mitigate risks across GPN. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of both the associated risk management frameworks and the applicable policies and standards.

On a given day you will be:

  • Refining a new Enterprise-wide analytical tools validation framework
  • Planning and executing validation projects
  • Assessing the quality and risk of analytical tool methodologies across Capital One, and the nature of tools usage within those processes
  • Understanding technical issues in analytical tools and assessing tools risks and opportunities
  • Independently researching, identifying, and prototyping industry best practices for emerging analytical tools
  • Communicating results clearly and concisely both verbally and through written communications via validation reports and presentations
  • Leveraging education, colleagues and training opportunities to develop solutions to business problems
  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff

Requirements

An ideal candidate will possess strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities in addition to communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. This position will be in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams., * Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field) plus at least 7 years of experience performing data analytics, or currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Master’s Degree plus at least 5 years of experience performing data analytics with an expectation that required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date.

  • At least 5 years of experience performing professional data analysis work
  • At least 5 years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologies
  • At least 2 years of experience managing people, * Master’s Degree or PhD in a Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in statistical or econometrics hands-on work
  • At least 5 years of experience manipulating and performing analysis with large data sets
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial services industry
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing statistical or econometric models
  • At least 5 years of experience in validating statistical or econometric models
  • At least 2 years of experience with data governance
  • At least 2 years of experience with predictive analytics

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
