Job description
As a Test Engineer, you will take ownership of both the engineering and execution of production test solutions across a varied portfolio of electronic products. Working closely with production, quality, and customers, you’ll support projects from initial NPI discussions through to full production release.
This is a highly varied position that combines hands-on testing, fault finding, process improvement, and customer support within a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment., * Develop, document, and validate test strategies for new and existing PCBA and box-build programmes
- Execute ICT, functional test, flying probe, and boundary scan (JTAG) testing activities
- Debug electronic assemblies to component level
- Raise and manage NCRs, providing clear fault descriptions and corrective actions
- Design, specify, and procure NPI test fixtures, jigs, and tooling
- Support new product introduction activities and production launches
- Maintain, calibrate, and manage production test equipment
- Support customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
- Analyse yield performance and first-pass test data to identify improvement opportunities
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support to Test Technicians
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve quality and efficiency
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Schematics?, * HNC, HND, or Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in electronics test engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience of ICT, functional testing, and component-level fault finding
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and PCB layouts
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, signal generators, and other test equipment
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 Class 2 and/or Class 3 standards
- Experience working within AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems
Desirable Experience
- Flying probe testing
- JTAG / Boundary Scan technologies
- Test fixture and jig design
- LabVIEW, TestStand, or automated test platforms
- EMS / contract electronics manufacturing environments
- Defence, communications, automotive, security, or instrumentation sectors
- AS9100D or ISO 13485 knowledge
