AI Governance Engineer

• We are seeking an AI Governance Engineer to help operationalize and advance enterprise AI governance practices across a growing organization. This role focuses on implementing governance frameworks, controls, processes, and technical safeguards that support responsible and scalable AI adoption.
• Working closely with governance, security, data, and engineering teams, you will translate AI governance requirements into practical solutions that can be embedded throughout the AI lifecycle. The position supports both employee-facing AI capabilities and enterprise AI application development, ensuring governance, compliance, security, and responsible AI principles are consistently applied.
• This is an execution-focused role responsible for implementing approved governance standards and controls rather than defining organizational policy or strategy.
• The successful candidate combines governance awareness with practical technical understanding. You should be comfortable working alongside developers, architects, security professionals, and business stakeholders to implement governance controls that support innovation while managing risk.
• This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys building repeatable processes, improving operational maturity, and helping organizations adopt AI technologies responsibly and at scale.
• Key Responsibilities
• Support the rollout and ongoing enhancement of AI governance practices across enterprise AI initiatives.
• Convert governance requirements into actionable controls, standards, templates, workflows, and technical guardrails.
• Partner with engineering and platform teams to integrate governance requirements into development, testing, deployment, and operational processes.
• Implement and maintain controls related to Responsible AI, security, privacy, risk management, and data governance.
• Assist with governance processes such as AI solution intake, risk assessments, approvals, monitoring, and periodic reviews.
• Develop reporting and monitoring capabilities that provide visibility into AI usage, adoption, compliance, risk exposure, and associated costs.
• Collaborate with Security, Legal, Privacy, Architecture, Data Governance, and Engineering stakeholders to support governance implementation efforts.
• Provide guidance to business and technical teams on approved AI practices and governance expectations.
• Maintain governance documentation, audit records, standards, and supporting evidence required for compliance and operational oversight.
• Recommend improvements to governance processes, controls, tooling, and adoption strategies as AI capabilities continue to evolve. Required Qualifications

• Experience in technology governance, risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, data governance, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), copilots, and emerging agentic AI concepts.
• Experience implementing governance standards, controls, policies, or compliance processes within technology environments.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and governance functions.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud-based AI and data platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft 365 AI services, GitHub Copilot, Databricks, or similar technologies.
• Exposure to AI solution delivery, automation, APIs, low-code platforms, or software development practices.
• Familiarity with governance monitoring, compliance reporting, auditing, and risk management frameworks.
