Application Developer, Automation & AI Engineer

• Design, Build and maintain internal web applications, APIS, and workflow automations.
• Server as a first point of contact for employees with coding questions: troubleshooting errors, reviewing code (Including AI-generated code), and guiding colleagues through version control and development
• Help colleagues move prototypes built on outside platforms onto the firm’s internal hosting environment
• Deploy and support applications on the firm’s containerized platform (Kubernetes with Git-based deployments) using established templates, in partnership with the infrastructure team
• Build integrations with internal and third-party systems through REST APIs
• Maintain existing internal applications and help modernize them over time
• Use AI-assisted development tools to speed up delivery while making sure the resulting code is secure, tested, and maintainable
• Write clear documentation and help establish development standards, templates, and best practices as the team grows

• 2+ years of development experience in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js), whether professional, through internships, or through substantial academic or personal projects
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (MariaDB/MySQL or PostgreSQL)
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)
• Foundational IT knowledge, including networking, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS and TLS certificates, and the Linux command line
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) and the judgment to review and correct their output
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the patience to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues

Preferred experience includes:

• Go
• Containers (Docker or Podman), with exposure to Kubernetes, Helm or GitOps tools.
• CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions)
• Modern web frameworks such as FastAPI, Express, Next.js, or React
• PowerShell, bash and python scripting

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, and competencies. Base Compensation: $$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually
