Senior C# Cloud Engineer

We are looking for a Senior C# Cloud Engineer to join an experienced technical team, combining software engineering with Azure cloud technology, DevOps and automation.

You will work on business-critical applications where reliability, security, performance and quality are essential. From translating business requirements into technical solutions to testing, deploying and maintaining applications in production, you will be involved throughout the entire development lifecycle.

As a Senior C# Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and improving applications and the processes that support their delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining applications, services and integrations using C#/.NET.
• Designing and building REST APIs and backend components.
• Translating business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Developing and improving applications within Microsoft Azure.
• Building, maintaining and optimising CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Automating builds, tests, releases and deployments.
• Collaborating with cloud and infrastructure engineers on Infrastructure as Code, including Bicep.
• Writing unit and integration tests and conducting code reviews.
• Applying secure coding practices and maintaining high standards of code quality.
• Improving application performance, availability, security and lifecycle management.
• Working with development, infrastructure, architecture and security teams to establish technical standards and best practices.

Essential experience:

• Several years of professional experience with C#/.NET in production environments.
• Experience developing web applications, backend services and REST APIs.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of software testing, code reviews and automated quality checks.
• Experience with deployment automation and release management.
• An interest in Infrastructure as Code and cloud infrastructure automation.
• A solid understanding of security, access management and secrets management.
• A proactive, analytical and solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Experience with the following technologies and concepts would be an advantage:

• Azure App Services, Azure SQL and Azure Storage.
• Azure Key Vault and Managed Identities.
• Azure Batch.
• Bicep, Terraform or ARM templates.
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), least privilege and privileged access management.
• Security tooling and automated quality gates.
• Monitoring, reliability engineering and cloud cost management.

You do not need to have experience with every technology listed. We are particularly interested in engineers with strong C#/.NET skills who are keen to take ownership across application development, cloud and DevOps.
