Agentic AI Software Engineer

This individual will help build and integrate AI-powered applications that leverage large language models, agent frameworks, APIs, and external tools to automate complex tasks and improve operational decision-making. This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys building production-grade AI systems and thrives in fast-paced environments where new capabilities are developed from the ground up. The team is focused on creating scalable, real-world AI solutions rather than research-only efforts, making strong software engineering fundamentals just as important as AI experience. The ideal candidate combines strong Python development skills with hands-on experience building AI-enabled applications, integrating external services, and developing systems that can reason through multi-step workflows while operating reliably in production environments. Key Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and deploy AI-enabled software applications and intelligent agent systems. * Build multi-step AI workflows that leverage large language models, APIs, and external tools to automate operational tasks. * Integrate AI capabilities into existing software platforms and enterprise applications. * Develop backend services and orchestration layers that support agent decision-making and task execution. * Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions. * Design and maintain interfaces between AI systems, APIs, databases, and external platforms. * Implement monitoring, testing, and evaluation approaches to ensure reliable AI behavior in production environments. * Support proof-of-concept efforts, product development initiatives, and rapidly evolving AI capabilities. * Contribute to software architecture decisions and help drive technical direction for emerging AI products. * Work within a highly collaborative team environment focused on innovation, ownership, and rapid capability development. $65hr to $95hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Skills and Requirements * 4+ years of software engineering experience. * Strong Python development experience. * Experience building or supporting AI-enabled applications. * Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and modern AI frameworks. * Experience integrating APIs, third-party services, and external software tools. * Experience developing backend services and distributed systems. * Experience deploying software into production environments. * Understanding of software architecture, testing methodologies, and system design principles. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy. *Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical field. *Eligibility to obtain a security clearance and pass financial/criminal background checks. * Master’s degree or PhD, particularly in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related disciplines. * Experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or similar technologies. * Experience building multi-agent systems or AI workflow orchestration platforms. * Experience with vector databases, retrieval systems, embeddings, and semantic search architectures. * Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native development, and CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with AI evaluation, observability, and model monitoring. * Experience supporting cybersecurity, defense, intelligence, or mission-focused environments. * Military, Cyber Command, offensive cyber, or operator backgrounds are highly valued.
