AI Engineer/Forward Deployed Engineer

A leading consultancy specialising in AI is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to support the delivery of a key strategic programme with a large Financial Institution in Madrid. The Forward Deployed Engineer will sit directly with the client and help take their AI capabilities into production. It’s a fairly hands-on role, working across engineering, data science and business teams to integrate LLM evaluation and quality tooling into their existing systems, data and AI workflows.

• Strong software or ML Engineer background
• Recent experience building and evaluating LLM systems in production.
• Experience around RAG, agents, tool use, LLM evaluation, observability or tracing would be relevant. In particular experience performing detailed evaluations on existing AI systems is relevant.
• Excellent communication in English (and Spanish ideally), comfortable working directly with stakeholders and getting into the detail of systems.
• Financial Services experience is a strong desirable

This role is based in Madrid, Spain, and would require around 4 days per week on site. The contract is for a period of 12 months initially, paying €500 - 700 per day (depending on experience).
