Senior Software Engineer

Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions across the full stack

• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements, NorthBridge Solutions is a fast-growing tech startup seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team. You will report to the Engineering Lead and work closely with cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Development

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

• Develop front-end components and integrate with backend systems as needed.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code with strong test coverage.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Architecture & Infrastructure

• Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical design.

• Deploy and maintain applications on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

• Monitor system performance and resolve production issues.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver features on time.

• Mentor junior engineers and help raise the technical bar across the team.

• Contribute to engineering best practices, documentation, and process improvements.

• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

5+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript)

• Experience designing and building scalable backend services and RESTful APIs

• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control (Git)

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems

• Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered, Required:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript).

• Experience building scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.

• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Git.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

Preferred:

• Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.

• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
