We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SDET Contractor to support the expansion of High Usage Scenario Testing (HUST) for the Mortgage LOS initiative. This role will focus on designing and implementing robust automated test solutions for complex, integrated workflows. The contractor will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness through scalable, maintainable automation - with potential for contract-to-hire based on performance and business need. Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test cases for high-usage, end-to-end scenarios in the BECU and Mortgage LOS ecosystem.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and architects to ensure testability and coverage of critical workflows.
• Build and maintain test data models and reusable automation components aligned with BECU’s frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliability across environments.
• Analyze test results, identify failure patterns, and support defect triage and resolution.
• Participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning to align testing with delivery milestones.
• Provide technical feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of test practices.
• Document test strategy, coverage, and results for business and technical stakeholders.

• 5-8 years of experience in test automation and software quality engineering.
• Strong proficiency in C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with test frameworks such as NUnit, MSTest, SpecFlow, Selenium, PlayWright, or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps) and test case management systems.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and ability to write SQL queries.
• Familiarity with Git and branching strategies (e.g., Git Flow, Trunk-Based Development).
• Strong analytical and debugging skills, with experience in root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with security testing or performance testing frameworks.
• Exposure to financial services or mortgage systems.
• Experience building Enterprise Test Automation Framework.
• Knowledge of API testing and service virtualization.
• Experience mentoring junior testers or developers.

SDET - will be for the same project but more enterprise e2e HUST Initiative - will be some modernization going on in performance and e2e automation tool stack - want these resources to blend that in. HUST is not an industry term - but well known inside Client - end to end enterprise level regression suite (high usage scenario testing)

want to present very senior candidates Need someone that can code frameworks, build - would like to see a coding assessment

*selenium is primary, playwright is nice to have - using javascript with that *want someone that can look at the framework to see how efficient it is - see if they need to tweak anything *rest# - within automation testing - use postman to validate before they automate *have done some POCs in azure load test - someone that understand azure load would be nice, maybe turn VM into cloud and automate some vm performance runs
