Job description

Our Client are an internationally renowned engineering business, who are enjoying continued growth across many departments. They are now seeking an ERP Data Analyst to join an established team.

The ERP Data Analyst you will become the analytical backbone of manufacturing operations. You will support ownership of developing, managing, and optimising the ERP and MRP systems, ensuring they evolve alongside the growing business needs.

Beyond system maintenance, you will act as a vital bridge between raw data and real-world execution, understanding how data flows through the entire supply chain, able to translate complex metrics into clear, actionable insights.

A key part of the role will be to support department heads and key stakeholders within the business, with the reporting and analysis they need to make informed, strategic decisions. Ultimately, your work will break down departmental silos, drive continuous improvement, and support a highly efficient, smooth, and process-driven manufacturing environment

Key responsibilities will include:

System Administration & Continuous Development:

  • Support and drive ownership of the day-to-day management and configuration of the ERP and MRP systems
  • Continually assess system performance and work closely with IT to implement upgrades, customise modules, and help the business to introduce improved features that scale with business growth

Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Support:

  • Act as the primary internal consultant for all department heads (including Production, Finance, Logistics, and Purchasing). Help them understand how their actions impact the system and collaborate to design custom workflows that solve their unique operational pain points

Advanced Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Harness data from across the entire business to build, maintain, and automate intuitive dashboards, KPIs, and reports
  • Turn complex manufacturing data into clear, simple to understand actionable insights that enable the leadership teams to make informed, strategic decisions

Data Integrity & Governance:

  • Establish and enforce robust data entry standards across the business
  • Conduct regular system audits, clean legacy data, and train staff to ensure that information-from Bill of Materials (BOM) to inventory tracking-remains highly accurate and reliable

User Training & Enablement:

  • Create friendly, accessible training materials and documentation for the ERP/MRP systems
  • Run onboarding sessions for new hires and provide ongoing coaching to existing team members to boost confidence and data literacy across the company

Requirements

  • Experience managing, configuring, and developing ERP and/or MRP systems, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment
  • A qualification with professional experience in Data Analytics, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • A strong understanding of core manufacturing concepts, such as Bill of Materials (BOM), inventory control, demand planning, and production scheduling
  • Proficiency with database management, query languages (like SQL), and data visualization tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel) is highly desirable
  • A natural problem-solver with a sharp eye for detail
  • You spot data anomalies quickly and love digging into the “why” behind the numbers to find root causes
  • An innate ability to visualize workflows and see how a change in one department impacts the rest of the business within the ERP system
  • You enjoy bringing order to chaos and building structured, repeatable processes

Benefits & conditions

£40,000 - £50,000 per annum DOE plus benefits package
