Junior Design Engineer

Our client is a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products to customers across the UK and international markets. Due to continued investment and expansion, they are seeking a motivated Junior Design Engineer to join their engineering team and develop their career within a supportive and innovative environment., As a Junior Design Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers on a range of exciting projects from concept through to manufacture. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering graduate or someone with early industry experience looking to develop their design capabilities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities will include:

• Creating and modifying 3D models and manufacturing drawings using CAD software
• Assisting in the design and development of new products and product improvements
• Producing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation
• Supporting prototype development, testing and design validation activities
• Working closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
• Assisting with problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintaining accurate technical records and design documentation

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or similar
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in engineering design and product development
• Placement year experience or previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential
