Platform Engineer

Contract: 6 - 8 monthsLocation: Remote - EuropeWorking hours: Good overlap with UK working hoursWe are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join an established engineering team working on the modernisation of a large-scale, high-traffic technology platform.This is a hands?on role focused on understanding and improving a complex AWS estate.You will work alongside Principal Engineers to investigate existing infrastructure, reduce legacy complexity, improve security and progressively move infrastructure under Terraform management.You will also contribute to the infrastructure supporting the organisation’s growing use of agentic AI on AWS.What you’ll be doing Mapping infrastructure, traffic flows, ownership and dependenciesIdentifying infrastructure that can be retired, consolidated or modernisedMigrating existing CloudFormation and manually managed AWS resources into TerraformManaging Terraform state and resource imports safelyOperating and improving production EKS clustersSupporting AWS Lambda applications and RDS/PostgreSQL databasesWorking extensively with CloudFront, IAM, VPC and AWS networkingIdentifying and resolving infrastructure security issuesImproving CI\ /CD pipelines using CircleCI and GitHubImproving monitoring, logging, alerting and platform reliabilitySupporting infrastructure for agentic AI workloads on AWSReviewing infrastructure changes across security, reliability, performance and costMentoring engineers and supporting engineering best practicesProducing clear technical documentation and architecture diagramsWhat we’re looking for You will be a highly experienced Platform, DevOps, SRE or Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands?on experience operating production AWS environments.You should have: Deep hands?on AWS experience, ideally across multiple AWS accountsExperience migrating existing or legacy infrastructure into TerraformStrong experience with EKS / Kubernetes and DockerExperience with Lambda and RDS/PostgreSQLGood knowledge of CloudFront, IAM, VPC and AWS networkingExperience with CircleCI and GitHub-based development workflowsBash and\ /or Python scripting experienceExperience with monitoring, logging and alertingStrong understanding of infrastructure security and least?privilege accessExperience making safe changes within complex production environmentsStrong code review, documentation and engineering standardsNice to have Experience with Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore or other AI/agent infrastructure would be highly valuable.Experience using agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex would also be beneficial.Experience working with high?traffic consumer, media or publishing platforms, AWS cost optimisation, API Gateway or Auto Scaling would be advantageous.#J-*****-Ljbffr
