SkillBridge Military Transition Program - Staff Security Engineer (Security Plat

As a SkillBridge Staff Security Engineer, you will contribute directly to Equinix’s security platform and automation initiatives, including: Security Platforms & API Engineering

• Design, build, and secure APIs that expose core security capabilities to internal teams and platforms
• Implement authentication, authorization, logging, rate limiting, and abuse protections at the API layer
• Work with API gateways, servicetoservice communications, and platform integrations
• Produce engineeringgrade documentation including runbooks, SDK guidance, and operational references

Automation & Secure Engineering (Core Focus)

• Build Pythonbased automation to streamline security workflows, data ingestion, and response actions
• Develop integrations, plugins, and middleware connecting security tools, SaaS platforms, and internal services
• Embed security controls directly into CI/CD pipelines (such as GitHub Actions)
• Improve reliability, observability, and scale of security systems through code

Engineering Leadership Exposure

• Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and product teams across globally distributed environments
• Contribute to coding standards, architectural decisions, and engineering best practices
• Learn how business, platform, and security requirements intersect in a large enterprise environment

Ideal Military Backgrounds

This SkillBridge opportunity is ideal for transitioning service members with experience in:

• Cyber Operations, Defensive Cyberspace Operations, or Cyber Warfare
• Software development, automation, or tooling in operational environments

• Writing Python or other automation scripts for operational or security use

• Operating in joint, missioncritical, or globally distributed environments
