Job description

About PLD Space:PLD Space is an international company on a mission to transport satellites into space, vertically integrating the engineering, testing, manufacturing, and operations of its reusable and sustainable rockets. Headquartered in Elche (Spain) and founded in ** by Raúl Torres and Raúl Verdú, PLD Space has established itself as a global benchmark in the small satellite launch sector. Its family of MIURA launchers and LINCE crewed capsule position the company as a leader in European technological sovereignty for space transportation, covering the full spectrum of space missions.PLD Space operates over 188,000 m2 of facilities in Elche, Teruel (Spain), Kourou (French Guiana), and Duqm (Oman), enabling the company to provide comprehensive satellite and payload launch services into space.Teamwork, courage, determination and ambition enable PLD Space to guarantee an autonomous, independent satellite space access capability, based on reliability at a globally competitive price. The company is able to offer best-in-class launch services to commercial satellite operators, institutions, space agencies and national and international governmental entitiesMissionAs a DMU (Digital Mock-Up) Integrator, your main mission at PLD Space will be to manage and optimize the digital representation of launch vehicles throughout the product development lifecycle. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of the digital models, facilitating collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the overall design processes.ResponsibilitiesDigital Mock-Up (DMU) Management: Manage the digital mock-up environment using Siemens NX software. Maintain the integrity of the digital models, ensuring they accurately represent the physical systems.Model Integration: Integrate CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models, assemblies, and subsystems into the digital mock-up environment, ensuring proper alignment, clearances, and interfaces between components.Collaboration Facilitation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, structural analysts, systems engineers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of design data and to resolve design-related issues.Configuration Management: Implement and maintain configuration management processes for digital models to track changes, revisions, and design iterations.Management of the different launch vehicle effectivities applied at DMU level in the PLM (Teamcenter).Definition of standardized elements 3D models (acc. to normative), naming rules and storage management of these elements in the PLM database (Teamcenter).Follow-up and control of launch vehicle mass properties’ budget.Be able to provide updated weight reports and feedback at any time.Validation and Verification: Perform validation and verification activities on the digital models to ensure that they meet design requirements, including geometric, structural, and kinematic aspects.DMU Reviews: Organize and lead DMU reviews to assess model quality, accuracy, and compliance with design standards. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements.Model Optimization: Collaborate with design engineers to optimize digital models for performance, manufacturability, and assembly. Identify and propose design changes when necessary.Interdisciplinary Coordination: Act as a liaison between different engineering disciplines, ensuring that all aspects of the digital mock-up align with the overall project objectives.Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members and end-users on the use of Siemens NX and the digital mock-up environment.Best Practices: Stay updated on industry best practices, software updates, and emerging technologies related to digital mock-up and CAD integration and apply this knowledge to improve processes.Generate documentation, including user guides, user checklists and user manuals for internal customers use.Generate documentation for formal program development reviews.Necessary RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.Proficiency in Siemens NX (formerly known as Unigraphics) software for 3D modeling, assembly design, and digital mock-up management.Experience in Teamcenter as PLM for the management and the storage of the DMU Items.Strong understanding of CAD principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).Knowledge of configuration management practices and tools for managing design data.Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations related to CAD and DMU, such as AS.Understanding of interdisciplinary engineering coordination and collaboration.Ability to perform model validation and verification activities.Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines and milestones.Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement in digital mock-up processes.English B2-C1.Desired RequirementsExperience in aerospace or manufacturing industries, or in roles related to DMU integration.Knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems and their integration with CAD software.Familiarity with kinematic and dynamic simulation in Siemens NX.Understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) and structural analysis software.Certification in Siemens NX or similar CAD software.BenefitsHealth & WellnessPhysiotherapy within our facilities50% discount on your health insuranceYou can sign-up your family members with health insurance at a competitive price.Healthy snacks and lots of fruitFind balance23 days of paid vacation plus December 24th and 31stFlexible work scheduleNever stop learningWe encourage practical learningWe promote professional development through internal mobility and teamworkFocus on your financial futureChildcare flexible contributionsRestaurant ticketsTransport flexible contributionsTraining supportValuesWe have five critical beliefs that guide the way PLD Space is shaping the future of space launch technologies.Teamwork.Hard work.Dynamism.Commitment.Keep it simple.Join us to reinvent how rockets are built!#J-***-Ljbffr
