Job description
At Cloudflare, weāre not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; weāre looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a ānormalizedā problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If youāre the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, youāll fit right in., Weāre looking for a Senior Program Manager to own data center delivery and the sourcing work that gets each site ready to operate. Youāll take projects from vendor selection and contract negotiation through construction, infrastructure deployment, commissioning, and handover to operations.
This role combines technical program management with hands-on commercial execution. Youāll work with engineering, construction, procurement, and operations teams to ensure facilities, equipment, and site services are ready when theyāre needed, with clear accountability for schedule, cost, and quality.
What youāll do
Deliver data centers
- Represent the owner across new builds and expansions, managing data center providers, general contractors, design consultants, commissioning agents, and compute integration partners.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installation, white space fit-out, rack-level power, structured cabling, equipment staging and validation, and commissioning through operational acceptance.
- Maintain a delivery schedule that connects construction milestones, equipment arrivals, service activation, and deployment dependencies. Resolve field issues and drive recovery plans when commitments slip.
- Assess vendor and partner readiness before deployment, and coordinate handover with operations so acceptance criteria, documentation, and support responsibilities are clear.
Source site services and manage contracts
- Own sourcing for the services each site needs to open and operate, including temporary power and water, security, waste management, and facilities support.
- Translate construction and operational requirements into scopes of work, supplier selections, and service start dates. Identify gaps early enough to prevent delays to site work.
- Negotiate regional and multi-site agreements, rate cards, service-level commitments, and change orders that new sites can use without restarting procurement.
- Hold suppliers accountable for delivery, service quality, and commercial commitments, coordinating utility and service-provider dependencies with construction and operations.
Manage the portfolio
- Track budgets, forecasts, scope changes, and risks across concurrent projects. Give leadership concise updates on progress, tradeoffs, and decisions needed.
- Build repeatable site-readiness and delivery playbooks, including sourcing checklists, vendor qualification, milestone tracking, and handover requirements. Apply lessons from each build to the next.
- Ensure deployment activities meet applicable codes, safety standards, and security requirements in partnership with the responsible technical teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years in technical program management, construction management, or infrastructure delivery, including at least 5 years working on data center or high-density infrastructure projects.
- Direct experience managing data center providers or general contractors on behalf of an owner, including contract administration, schedule oversight, and scope changes.
- Hands-on sourcing experience for site services or indirect categories in multi-site industrial environments, including standing up services for a new site.
- Experience negotiating supplier agreements and rate cards across locations, with a practical understanding of how procurement lead times affect construction and operations.
- Working knowledge of data center MEP systems, white space delivery, structured cabling, rack-level power distribution, and compute staging and integration.
- Experience managing substantial infrastructure budgets and competing dependencies across multiple projects.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical delivery issues and commercial tradeoffs to senior leadership.
- A bachelorās degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred experience
- High-density GPU deployments and liquid cooling systems.
- Fast-track or modular data center construction.
- Utility coordination, security services contracting, and facilities management agreements.
- PMP or an equivalent project management credential.
