Software Engineer I

The chosen candidate will join the Agile Scrum team and contribute to the development and maintenance of a complex software code base comprised of a cross-domain solution and feature-enhancing components. Tasking includes analyzing, prototyping, and contributing to the development of baseline features to address security and enterprise requirements, while also maintaining and providing bug fixes to currently deployed versions of the cross-domain guarding solution. The chosen candidate will collaborate with a very synergistic Product Development team, a Research & Development team, a Fielding team, Government Testing teams, and a Government PMO to achieve the program goals.

• Have a science/math/engineering BS degree with 0-2 years of work experience.
• Function well in a team environment.
• Demonstrate proficiencies in Java, C++, shell scripting, XML, Gitlab, VMWare, Linux.
• Are familiar with the full software engineering lifecycle.
• Understand good coding principles and practices.
• Have container-based development experience using Kubernetes, Gitlab CI and bash or equivalent.
• Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and quality oriented.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.

It’d be even better if you have…

• Knowledge of Agile development processes.
• Design and implementation knowledge/experience using object-oriented principles and patterns.
• Experience with relevant software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators, simulators and logic analyzers).
• Exposure to Security Enhanced Red Hat Linux
• Additional programming languages exposure (e.g., Go, Rust, C#).
• Working knowledge of secure coding practices and processes.
• An understanding or working knowledge of test-driven development.
• An understanding of public-key cryptography.

This is the projected compensation range for this position.
