Job description

You’ll own the client’s Lightning wallet end to end, from a scoped rebrand to a custom product integrated with the client’s network. This is a long-term role. Phase 1 is where you and the client confirm the fit.

Phase 1: Rebrand (approx. 3-4 weeks)

  • Fork and configure the raspiblitz-web repository
  • Apply the client’s brand identity (logos, colors, typography)
  • Rename the “Satoshi” unit to the client’s branded unit in labels and display logic
  • Ensure the UI is consistent and responsive on desktop and mobile

Phase 2: Custom wallet features

  • Design and build wallet features specific to the client’s ecosystem
  • Extend the backend (blitz_api) and Lightning node interactions as needed
  • Work with the in-house designer and the existing team in Canada and India

Phase 3: Network integration

  • Integrate the wallet’s Lightning payments with the client’s DePIN network and node infrastructure
  • Collaborate with the hardware/firmware team on how payments connect to OpenWrt-based nodes and the network ledger

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development, with strong TypeScript and React
  • Hands-on experience with Bitcoin and the Lightning Network: channels, liquidity, invoices, payments, and how a node relates to a wallet
  • Experience building against LND or Core Lightning APIs (gRPC/REST)
  • Backend development experience, ideally Python (FastAPI)
  • Comfortable with Git/GitHub workflows, including forking and maintaining upstream open-source projects
  • Able to read an unfamiliar codebase and give accurate hour estimates for scoped work, * Built or contributed to a Bitcoin/Lightning wallet or node interface (RaspiBlitz, RTL, ThunderHub, Umbrel, Zeus, BTCPay Server, StartOS)
  • Experience with Linux-based or embedded environments (OpenWrt a bonus)
  • Exposure to IoT or DePIN projects
  • UI/design sensibility

About the company

Our client is building a DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) for IoT connectivity. Its hardware nodes run OpenWrt-based routers that host the network ledger and support LoRa, Wi-Fi HaLow, Zigbee, NB-IoT and LTE. The team is adding a Bitcoin Lightning payment layer to the ecosystem and building its own branded Lightning wallet on the open-source RaspiBlitz project.
