Job description

  • Deploy, configure and troubleshoot infrastructure in classified and air gapped customer environments
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi (Terraform acceptable)
  • Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines
  • Run Kubernetes, Helm, Podman and Docker on RHEL based platforms in operational environments
  • Partner directly with customer engineering teams to integrate, test and resolve issues
  • Enforce CMMC compliance and manage secrets, configuration and access controls
  • Travel to customer sites as needed for deployments, upgrades and mission execution

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance, hard requirement
  • Expert level Infrastructure as Code, Pulumi strongly preferred, Terraform acceptable
  • Deep hands on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, plus Helm and Podman
  • Strong RHEL and Linux depth, as an engineer who automates and builds on Linux rather than just administering it
  • Strong CI/CD and DevSecOps experience with GitLab CI/CD and GitHub Actions
  • Proficiency with AWS and/or other cloud services
  • Scripting and automation in Bash, Python, Go or TypeScript
  • Solid networking fundamentals
  • Experience deploying to air gapped environments and self hosting on bare metal
  • Familiarity with CMMC, PCI or similar frameworks, and with SSO/IdP tools like Authentik or Keycloak
  • High agency and real curiosity: you own problems end to end and want to know how your tools work under the hood

Bonus Points:

  • Experience supporting classified DoD or Navy environments
  • AWS GovCloud or other secure cloud environments
  • Edge computing, maritime systems or sensor platforms
  • Observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Sentry or SigNoz
  • Working directly with government customers in operational environments

Benefits & conditions

Equity, 401(k) with match, unlimited PTO, dedicated sick time, 11 paid holidays, paid parental leave, full medical/dental/vision, life and disability insurance, professional development and certification reimbursement, home office stipend, and referral and performance bonuses.

About the company

Join a mission driven defense technology company building next generation software systems that power U.S. Navy platforms, including combat systems aboard nuclear submarines. The team works directly with real world SONAR and sensor data in classified environments, and engineers own systems deployed in mission critical settings.

What This Role is All About:

You’ll work on site with customers, writing code, integrating systems and solving hard problems in the field. You’ll take our client’s maritime intelligence platform into classified customer environments the core engineering team can’t reach. You’ll find where those environments break the platform’s assumptions and ship the fix upstream yourself. This is a builder’s role, not an IT role. Time on site is driven by deployments, not a fixed schedule.
