Data Analyst

Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Data Analyst (contract). In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and the data platform. As well as transform complex business questions into scalable analytics solutions, enabling data-driven decision-making across multiple departments. This role is hybrid in Austin, Tx., * Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into actionable analytics solutions.

• Gather requirements, define KPIs, and create scalable reporting frameworks.
• Design, build, and maintain analytics data models using SQL and dbt.
• Develop and enhance dashboards, reports, and self-service BI solutions.
• Perform data validation, testing, and quality assurance to ensure accurate reporting.
• Conduct trend analysis and root-cause investigations to support business decisions.
• Present insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate on data platform enhancements, reporting consolidation, and modernization initiatives.
• Automate recurring reporting and analytics processes using Python.
• Maintain documentation, data governance standards, and reporting best practices.
• Support secure handling of financial, operational, customer, and employee data.
• Contribute to code reviews, CI/CD processes, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience building analytics and business intelligence solutions in cloud-based environments.
• 3+ years of advanced SQL development in a production setting.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with dbt.
• 3+ years of experience developing dashboards and reports using modern BI platforms.
• Strong experience gathering requirements and collaborating directly with business stakeholders.
• Experience working with cloud data warehouses and modern data platforms.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices., * Experience with BigQuery, Databricks, or similar cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Looker/LookML, Power BI, or comparable business intelligence tools.
• Knowledge of data governance, metric management, and semantic modeling.
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting transformations, system consolidations, or platform modernization initiatives.
