Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer

• Develop, review and modify electronics hardware, embedded firmware and FPGA designs
• Take ownership of inherited designs, source code, interfaces and test methods
• Work on low-power, low-noise, reliable subsea electronics and electro-optical interfaces
• Support optical link performance testing and optimisation
• Use embedded C, FPGA and Python for development, diagnosis and test automation
• Help bring products to production readiness, including test fixtures and automated test
• Provide senior input on design reviews, integration, verification and fault finding
• Produce clear documentation, and work with internal teams and external partners to close design knowledge gaps

• Expert: electronics design, low-power design, embedded C/C++, FPGA, fault finding, documentation
• Competent: Altium PCB design, ADCs and precision acquisition, clocks and timing, communication protocols (SPI, I C, UART, Ethernet, RS-485/232), EMC (EN60945), production support
• Basic: electro-optical interfaces, * Essential: 2:1 or above in a relevant engineering degree
• Desirable: Master’s or PhD in a relevant area (electronics, embedded systems, FPGA, photonics, instrumentation)
