Job description

Everyone is trying to harness the cloud, but not everyone knows how. As a Cloud Application Architect, you know how to translate business, operational, and technical requirements into modern cloud architectures that meet client needs. What if you could use your cloud architecture expertise to improve Public Health data modernization? We need you to help us design, develop, and modernize enterprise systems that address some of Public Health’s toughest challenges.

On our team, you’ll lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions supporting Public Health data modernization initiatives. You’ll apply your technical expertise to improve system stability, performance, and maintainability while ensuring solutions align with mission and business objectives. Working alongside program managers, product owners, engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and cloud teams, you’ll translate requirements into effective cloud architectures and guide development teams through implementation.

You’ll lead architecture reviews, define cloud integration patterns, and ensure solutions follow engineering best practices, including DevSecOps, automation, and cloud-native development principles. You’ll also provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams while contributing to long-term technology roadmaps. As you evaluate the current environment and identify opportunities for improvement, your expertise will help shape modern cloud solutions that support secure, reliable, and effective Public Health data modernization.

  • 3+ years of experience architecting or developing solutions using Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure app services, databases, and monitoring features
  • Experience successfully presenting new technical ideas, technical concepts and business decisions to technical and business audiences
  • Experience providing technical leadership, direction and support to multiple development teams working on parallel projects
  • Experience leading technical design sessions and delivering architecture documentation
  • Knowledge of AI based Software Development and federal cybersecurity and section 508 requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Experience implementing Azure-centric DevSecOps strategies and continuous deployment pipelines
  • Experience with Azure-based event-driven architectures or distributed systems for high-performance, resilient applications
  • Experience with successful cloud optimization
  • Experience with Agentic AI frameworks and tools.
  • Possession of excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills, including in cloud solution design discussions
