Senior Android Developer

Our client seeks a Senior Android Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of core Android applications. The role will collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance, and user-friendly experiences. The developer will mentor junior and mid-level engineers and guide technical architecture decisions., * Design & Build: Develop advanced, resilient, and responsive Android applications from scratch or enhance existing large-scale codebases.

• Architecture: Own application architecture such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture and ensure adherence to SOLID principles and design patterns.
• API Integration: Integrate with RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and backend services.
• Optimization & Quality: Profile performance, address memory leaks, reduce crashes and ANRs, and implement unit and instrumentation tests using JUnit and Espresso.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Participate in Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, and mentor team members.
• CI/CD & Deployment: Manage Git-based source control, contribute to automated CI/CD pipelines, and support Google Play Store release management.

• 5+ to 8+ years of professional mobile development experience focused on Android.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Extensive experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and modern UI frameworks including Jetpack Compose and Material Design.
• Experience with Retrofit, Room, SQLite, and asynchronous data handling.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Preferred: Familiarity with financial or enterprise-scale applications.
• Preferred: Published apps on the Google Play Store.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Rate: $60.00 to $70.00/hr. w2, Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
