Powertrain Test Lab Engineer

The engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to improve test quality, increase automation and standardize testing procedures at ETL. Job Functions / Responsibilities + Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for engine test cells and facility operations + Support PACCAR engineering organizations by supplying, improving, and maintaining testing tools used for calibrating, evaluating, and validating hardware and software systems used in test cells + Support calibration, evaluation, and validation activities through continuous improvement of testing tools + Support facility upgrades and new test cell development initiatives + Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test quality, automation, safety, and operational efficiency + Research and implement new automation, instrumentation, and testing technologies Required Qualifications & Skills + B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical), Computer Science, or related discipline + Minimum

This role supplies and enhances testing tools, test cell infrastructure, automation systems to validate new hardware and software technologies., 7 years work experience in automation and control systems for engine test lab facilities + Proficiency using AVL test cell automation systems and Siemens facility hardware + Basic knowledge of diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment system operation and control systems + Ability to work with all ETL staff, fostering teamwork and employee development + Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team + Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks + Excellent organizational and communication skills Preferred Qualifications & Skills + MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Automotive, or related engineering degree + Test cell experience performing heavy-duty on-highway engine development + Experience performing engine or exhaust aftertreatment calibration + Proficiency using AVL test cell automation systems and data analysis (PUMA and CONCERTO) + Experience using engine control software such as ATI Vision, CALTERM, dSpace PACCAR Benefits
