Software Engineer

Responsibilities + Design and implement new capabilities and custom software solutions to solve unique government customer problems + Follow best practices to write well-tested, high performing code + Identify and resolve issues found in existing code + Integrate capabilities with external services and tools + Participate in code reviews and mentor team members + Communicate status and technical details with customers OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: This position requires onsite presence at Wright Patterson AFB. TRAVEL: Position does not require travel. Qualifications CLEARANCE: Active Secret clearance required. Candidates must be eligible for and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. EDUCATION: + Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. CERTIFICATIONS: + DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+) certification, required. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + 5 + years experience writing, maintaining, debugging, and testing code + Experience with RESTful web services + Experience with server-side languages, preference toward Golang, NodeJS, and/or Python + Experience with frontend JavaScript frameworks, preference toward Angular and Vue + Experience with version control software (e.g., Git) + Experience with bug/issue tracking software such as JIRA + Ability to communicate technical details of work + Ability to work in a dynamic environment and take ownership for segments of a project + Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills + Open, team-oriented, with a strong desire to learn DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + Experience with containerized deployment such as Docker + Experience utilizing document store databases, such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch and MongoDB + Experience with Kubernetes and Helm + Experience with CI/CD pipelines utilizing Argo CD and Jenkins Benefits WHAT WE OFFER: At CIS Secure and its associated companies, Intrepid Solutions and Services and Darkblade Systems, we believe in promoting fair and transparent pay practices.
