We are looking for an experienced Apigee X / Google Cloud Engineer / Consultant to support a major enterprise API and cloud programme for a banking client

8-month contract

Remote/London based

Inside IR35

Both roles require strong hands-on Apigee X and GCP experience, with one position focused more heavily on Cloud Automation / Terraform and the other on Apigee delivery, integration and troubleshooting.

Apigee X Cloud & Automation Engineer- Focused on building repeatable, automated deployment and configuration capabilities across Apigee X and Google Cloud.

Key skills:

• Apigee X and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• CI/CD automation
• GitHub, Harness, Jenkins or Cloud Build
• Cloud Run
• GCP networking, IAM, DNS and private connectivity
• Automated testing and validation
• Python, Bash or similar scripting

Senior Apigee X Delivery Engineer / Consultant - Focused on hands-on Apigee X configuration, API integration, security, testing and production delivery.

Key skills:

• Strong production experience with Apigee X
• API proxies, policies, shared flows, KVMs, target servers and API products
• REST APIs and OpenAPI
• OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, mTLS and certificates
• API security and authentication
• CI/CD and repeatable deployments
• GCP networking and connectivity
• Troubleshooting API routing, TLS, DNS and authentication issues
• Production support, testing and root-cause analysis

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

Apigee Edge migrations, GKE, Cloud Run, Istio/Anthos Service Mesh, Backstage, Dynatrace, Google Cloud Operations, ServiceNow, Harness, GitHub Copilot or financial services environments.

These are hands-on engineering roles working across Apigee X, GCP, API security, automation and cloud integration, alongside platform, application, security, network and SRE teams.

Candidates do not need to tick every desirable skill. If you have strong commercial Apigee X experience combined with GCP, API engineering or automation expertise, we would be keen to hear from you.
